Demonstration Projects

Demonstration Projects

We support countries in designing and implementing demonstration projects that showcase practical solutions for climate adaptation and biodiversity conservation. These projects allow municipalities and local authorities to test and evaluate approaches such as nature-based solutions, ecosystem restoration, and climate-resilient urban planning.

Our support includes selecting and managing implementing partners, establishing monitoring systems, and documenting project outcomes. This ensures that pilot projects are effective, measurable, and replicable, providing evidence for scaling up successful interventions at regional and national levels.

In addition to project implementation, we provide awareness-raising and capacity-building activities to ensure lessons learned are widely shared. Training materials, workshops, and public outreach campaigns complement demonstration projects, helping stakeholders understand the benefits of adaptation measures and integrate them into broader planning frameworks. Gender inclusivity and equity are prioritized throughout all capacity-building activities. We ensure that women and other underrepresented groups actively participate in trainings, workshops, and exchanges, fostering equitable knowledge transfer and empowering local actors to lead adaptation and resilience efforts.
