Capacity Building Workshops Promote Climate-Resilient and Water-Smart Agriculture
Two two-day capacity-building workshops were held on 22–23 November and 27–28 November 2025 under the EU4ClimateResilience and PROGRESS projects, in close cooperation with ADA University. The workshops brought together farmers, cooperatives, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and agricultural service providers.
The first workshop, “Water-Smart Agriculture: Efficient Irrigation and Water Conservation” (22–23 November), focused on enhancing understanding of climate change impacts on water availability and promoting water-efficient irrigation practices.
The second workshop, “Women as Agents of Change in Climate-Resilient Farming” (27–28 November), highlighted the role of women-led farms and agribusinesses in advancing climate adaptation and sustainable agri-food systems.
Both workshops followed a blended learning approach. The first day featured expert presentations, moderated discussions, and experience sharing, while the second day focused on practical learning through field visits to farms applying good practices. Trainers and host farmers shared hands-on experience and responded to participants’ questions.
In total, 51 participants, including 21 women entrepreneurs and cooperative leaders, took part in the workshops. The strong engagement demonstrated growing interest in climate-smart agricultural solutions, while also underlining the need for continued technical assistance and targeted business support to ensure the sustainable uptake of best practices.
