EU4ClimateResilience Supports Boyarka and Kremenchuk in Updating Their Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans
Ukrainian cities of Boyarka and Kremenchuk have taken another important step towards a more sustainable and climate-resilient future by launching the process of updating their Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs) with the support of the EU4ClimateResilience.
The work follows a structured roadmap that includes data collection, greenhouse gas emissions assessment, climate risk and vulnerability analysis, energy poverty assesment and the development of an investment pipeline for priority climate actions.
The first working sessions brought together representatives of local authorities, national experts, and the EU4ClimateResilience team.
SECAP is much more than a strategic document. It provides communities with a practical roadmap for improving energy efficiency, expand-ing renewable energy solutions, strengthening resilience to climate change, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and attracting investments that support sustainable local development.
Throughout the process, experts will work closely with both municipalities and their working groups to identify priority climate actions, develop a long-term vision for 2050, and prepare bankable project concepts that can accelerate implementation of local climate initiatives.
By supporting Ukrainian municipalities in developing SECAPs, EU4ClimateResilience helps local governments transform climate ambitions into concrete actions that improve energy security, increase resilience and create sustainable opportunities for future generations.
