“Our Water, Our Environment” Photography Exhibition Highlights Community-Led Climate Resilience at COP17
As part of the EU4ClimateResilience project, the documentary photography exhibition “Our Water, Our Environment” was presented at the European Union Pavilion in the UN CBD COP17 Green Zone, highlighting the Climate Bridge project and the voices of the Tashir community in Armenia.
Through photographs and personal stories, visitors discovered Tashir’s landscapes, the lives of local residents and community efforts to restore ecosystems and adapt to climate change.
The exhibition showcased Climate Bridge as an example of nature-based solutions for strengthening the climate resilience of riverbeds in Armenia, while raising awareness of climate adaptation and the importance of community-led environmental restoration.
A particular focus was placed on amplifying the voices of young people from Tashir, providing an opportunity to share their perspectives and experiences with an international audience.
The exhibition also highlighted the contributions of the European Union, the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN), GIZ Armenia and local partners in supporting climate resilience initiatives.
Beyond COP17, the exhibition aims to serve as a lasting educational and tourism resource for the Tashir community, helping to raise awareness of local environmental challenges and the importance of ecosystem restoration.
By bringing together photography, personal experiences and local environmental initiatives, “Our Water, Our Environment” illustrated how environmental restoration and community action can transform climate challenges into opportunities for sustainable development.
