Demonstration Projects on Nature-Based Solutions: Memoranda of Understanding Signing Ceremony

As part of the EU Green Week 2025, a dedicated event will be held in at the Erebuni Hall of the Alexander Hotel in Yerevan  showcasing the contribution of the EU4ClimateResilience project in Armenia and reinforcing the importance of strong local partnerships in advancing climate action.

The project Supports Armenia and broader Eastern Partnership region - Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine in accelerating decarbonization, strengthening climate resilience and increasing energy security. EU4ClimateResilience provides technical and policy support to partner countries to help them achieve the climate goals set out in the Paris Agreement and in EU bilateral agreements. The project also focuses on creating regulatory frameworks for green finance, including mechanisms for issuing green bonds to support sustainable investments.

On the agenda is the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), which formalise cooperation between national authorities, local governments, and project partners to implement climate resilience initiatives.

A central part of the event will be the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), formalising cooperation between national authorities, local governments, and project partners to implement climate resilience initiatives.

During the event, Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the Gavar Municipality and the "Blejan" NGO for the implementation of the "Dream Garden: Establishment of a Climate-Resilient Urban Park in the Gavar Community" project, as well as between the Tashir Municipality and the Energy Saving Foundation for the implementation of the "Climate Bridge: Restoration of the Tashir River Banks and Climate Resilience through Sustainable Tourism" project.

The event will be attended by the Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, representatives of the Ministries of Environment, Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, the Covenant of Mayors East country office, as well as international organisations, NGOs, and local stakeholders.

Key expected outcomes of the event are:
