Young Innovators Drive Water Solutions at WaterTech Bootcamp and Baku Water Week
More than 60 young innovators presented their solutions for sustainable water management at the WaterTech Bootcamp, held on 5–8 September at the Training and Innovation Center of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ASWRA). The event was organized by the Water and Amelioration Scientific Research Institute (ASRI) under ASWRA and SUP VC LLC, with the support of the EU4ClimateResilience project.
The Bootcamp received over 300 applications, from which 60 young participants were selected. Over four days, they attended training sessions and worked in teams with mentors to develop innovative ideas for tackling water challenges, including reducing losses, digitalization, and the use of artificial intelligence.
At the closing ceremony, participants were commended for their creativity and vision in contributing to more resilient and sustainable water management in Azerbaijan. The top three teams were later awarded during Baku Water Week.
The Bootcamp formed part of Baku Water Week discussions, where experts and decision-makers explored strategies for climate resilience, infrastructure modernization, and sustainable water use.
By empowering young innovators and fostering cooperation between public institutions, academia, and the private sector, the initiative highlighted the role of innovation in addressing climate change and strengthening water resilience in Azerbaijan.
